Problem: Nessus plugin download failed

Description of the problem: As shown in the figure below, there may be a problem that the plug-in download fails during the process of installing Nessus. At this time, we can use the offline download method to download the plug-in.

1, first generate the challenge code, in the directory/opt/nessus/sbinRun the following code to generate the challenge code:

./nessuscli fetch --challenge

2. Then open the webpage:https://plugins.nessus.org/v2/offline.php, enter the challenge code and activation code.

Note: Since the activation code can only be used once, we can:https://www.tenable.com/products/nessus/activation-codeGet the activation code again.

3. After inputting, click the “submit” button and it will be transferred to the plugin download page, as shown below:

4, after downloading the plugin (note: because it is a foreign website, the plugin download speed may be slow), then copy the plugin to NessusIn the /opt/nessus/sbin/ directory, run the following command to update the plugin:

./nessuscli update all-2.0.tar.gz

orLog in to Nessus → Setting → Software Update in the upper right corner of Manual Software Update, select Upload your own plugin archive, find the all-2.0.tar.gz file you just uploaded, and upgrade it after a while.

5. After the plugin is upgraded, restart Nessus with the command "./nessusd".
